Overview This is an artificially assembled collection of oral histories recorded with administration, faculty, staff, alumni, students, and other Johns Hopkins University affiliates, 1999-2004 and 2014-present. The early oral history interviews were faciliated by Mame Warren starting 1999, and as of 2014 by Hopkins Retrospective.
Scope and Contents The records of the Office of Patent Management spans the years 1950 to 1995, with the bulk of materials dating from 1955 to 1995. Types of records include general patent information, correspondence, Committee on Governmental Relations (COGR) files, invention disclosure records, patent applications, office files, project files and licensing records. Overview Robert B. Pond, Sr. (1917-2007) helped found Johns Hopkins University's Department of Material Science, where he served as chair for eight years. The collection includes papers relating to Professor Pond's involvement with companies such as Marvalaud Inc. and Inland Steel Company, and materials from his various roles at Johns Hopkins University, including advising, administrative, and teaching materials. His papers span from 1946 to approximately 1987.
