"A Moral Purpose in Art", November 17, 1894
Scope and Contents note
The papers in this series are separated into folders and arranged chronologically.
This series is composed primarily of those papers which Turnbull wrote and presented before the club. The topics reflect her interest in art and poetry. Two of the papers became published articles: "Sidney Lanier, A Study" in Donald Sladen's series, "Younger American Poets," 1891 and "A Study of William Watson" in Poet Lore, 1897. The final items in the collection are those of Turnbull's contemporaries who most likely were members of the club: holographic poems of Virginia Woodward Cloud, an essay by Virginia Lyne Tunstall, and a letter of Harriet Lummis Smith.
