"Critical Thinking " 1994
Scope and Contents note
In Series 2: Course Materials are contracts, evaluations, guidelines, proposals, notes, and schedules related to courses taught by Sidney Offit at New York University and the New School for Social Research. Other items relate to conferences and seminars at Marymount Manhattan College and Barnard. Offit has been a member of the faculty of New York University since 1964 and was appointed adjunct professor of creative writing in 1977. He has been a lecturer in creative writing at the New School since 1965. The materials in Series 2 including evaluations and correspondence reflect Offit's attention to students and their respect for his suggestions and critiques. Of interest too is a folder of material recounting Offit's work at Daytop Village, a narcotics rehabilitation house in New York. As chairman of the P.E.N. in the City Committee, Offit assisted with a writing workshop at Daytop Village in the early 1970s.
