Scope and Contents note
Series 1, Space Telescope ranges in date from 1971-1987. The records are arranged alphabetically, by subject. The first group of records in this series consists of contracts and expenditure statements. The bulk of the remaining records in this series are reports and correspondence dealing with the development and construction of scientific instruments to be mounted on the Space Telescope. Fastie's efforts to gain the establishment of the Space Telescope Institute at its Homewood Campus location are also covered by records in this series.
