Scope and Contents
This subseries includes various proposals, both to the National Science Foundation (NSF) and NASA. Some proposals feature Arthur F. Davidsen as Principal Investigator, or as a member of the science team. Other proposals in this subseries are made by the Center for Astrophysical Studies (CAS), of which Davidsen served as director from 1985-1988. Finally, files marked “observation” proposals or “Guaranteed Time Observation (GTO)” proposals refer to researcher applications to use telescopes, such as the Faint Object Spectrograph or the Hubble Space Telescope.
