Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Soren Lura correspondence collection contains more than 20 letters, postcards, and autographs from several composers and musicians of the nineteenth and early twentieth century. These include letters from Johannes Brahms, Camille Saint-Saëns, Edouard Lalo, Louis Spohr, Richard Strauss, August Wilhelmj, Pablo de Sarasate, and Percy Grainger. Some items are addressed to members of the family of Lili Scholz, including a 1903 letter from Dr. Richard Fellinger to Bernhard Scholz about a set of letters in Brahms's estate.
