George Boas (1891 – 1980) was a Professor of Philosophy at Johns Hopkins University. The collection spans the years from 1920 to 1980, and consists of articles, correspondence, notebooks, reprints, short stories, and speeches.
In 1908 the Department of Philosophy and Psychology combined with Education to become the Department of Philosophy, Psychology, and Education. This lasted until 1915 when the three faculties separated to become their own departments.
From 1903-1915, Philosophy and Psychology were part of the same department. From 1903-1908 it was the Department of Philosophy and Psychology. In 1908, this expanded to include Education and became the Department of Philosophy, Psychology, and Education. In 1915, the three faculties split and became their own departments.
