Abstract John Henry Sirich, Sr. (1848-1911) was born in West Virginia but moved to Baltimore as a child. He worked his way up from being a clerk, and worked as a manager for the Boston Marine Insurance Co. He was at one time president of the Fire Board and president of the Board of Directors of the City Jail. His son Edward H. received his PhD at Johns Hopkins University.
