Sidney Clopton Lanier (1842-1881) was an American musician, poet and author. The collection spans the years 1838 to 1998, with the bulk dating from 1838 to 1972. Abstract Edward "Ted" Athelstan Marshall was born Edward Howard Marshall on May 8, 1920 in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Johns Hopkins University from 1939 to 1943, where he majored in English Literature. Upon commencement, Marshall joined the U.S. Army infantry the same year. He was killed in combat in Europe on November 10, 1944. Abstract The formation of the Tudor and Stuart Club was initiated by Sir William Osler and his wife, Lady Grace Osler. Their intention to provide an endowment for these activities was expressed in a letter to Johns Hopkins University President Frank J. Goodnow, dated October 30, 1918.
