Bernard Christian Steiner a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University. The collection consists of three notebooks from courses Steiner attended at Hopkins in 1888-1890. The material covered includes lectures by Daniel Coit Gilman on charities, Elgin Ralston Lovell Gould on the family, and Woodrow Wilson on the administration of the state.

Edwin Litchfield Turnbull (1872-1927) was a musician who helped create both the Johns Hopkins University and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. The collection spans the years 1881-1971 and consists of approximately 400 letters, photographs, loose newspaper clippings, juvenile notebooks, and 13 scrapbooks of newspaper clippings relating to musical, social, or other events.

Bragdon is thought to have collected the research from approximately 1945 to the time of the book's publication in 1967.

Herbert Baxter Adams (1850-1901) was an American educator and historian. The collection consists of material spanning 1851-1903. The materials include correspondence, lectures, writings, research material, files related to Johns Hopkins University, the United States Bureau of Education, the American Historical Association Committee of Seven, personal files, and prints and photos.

Ira Remsen, American chemist, educator and second President of Johns Hopkins University was born in New York City on February 10, 1846. The collection spans the years 1868 - 1938. The material consists of correspondence, speeches, publications, lectures and lecture notes, notebooks, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, photographs, reprints, books annotated by Remsen, and memorabilia.

John Martin Vincent (1857-1939) years was a Professor of European History at Johns Hopkins University. This collection consists of correspondence, scrapbooks, subject files, and personal materials ranging in date from 1881 to 1925. The bulk of the material is correspondence dating from 1900-1910.

Collection consists largely of correspondence and professional papers of American banker and diplomat, John Work Garrett. Included are items from Garrett's foreign service in Venezuela, Argentina, the Netherlands, and Italy. Other materials relate to political events, locally and internationally (1920-1940). Also in the collection is extensive personal correspondence of Garrett and his wife, Alice, which describes personal friendships, travels, entertainments, and cultural interests.

The Johns Hopkins University women's suffrage collection documents the history of the women's suffrage movement both in the United States and abroad from 1879 to approximately 1970, with the bulk of the material dating from 1900 to 1920. It is an artificially assembled collection of materials selected by the curators of Special Collections.

Collection consists of 41 pamphlets, one broadside, and one manuscript sent to President Wilson and ranging in date from 1883-1919, but dating primarily from 1917-1919.
