Lauretta Dorsey Young (1942-2020) was a soprano who studied with Alice Duschak at the Peabody Conservatory from 1959 to 1963 and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree. Young sang with conductors such as Leonard Bernstein, Antal Dorati, Sergiu Commissiona, and Reiner Miedel, and appeared with numerous orchestras throughout the United States and abroad, such as the New York Philharmonic, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and National Symphony Orchestra.
