Scope and Contents

Includes portraits of individuals, including: a portrait of Yuan Shikai (Chinese: 袁世凱), Emperor of China, taken in approximately 1915; a portrait of Edward Caird as the "Master of Balliol," Vanity Fair, April 4, 1895; an engraving of Carl Menger, date unknown, apparently signed by the artist (in pencil).

There are also images of places and architecture, including: a stambha tower, possibly in Rajasthan, India; images of carvings from an unidentified temple in India as well as an exterior image of a fortification/castle in India; three photographs of ancient Egyptian sites including one image of the Hypostyle Hall at the Temple at Karnak and two photos of the Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III at Medinet Habu, Egypt, all possibly by P. Dittrich; and an image of Cortina, Italy.
