Scope and Contents
The papers of Dr. R. Robinson Baker contain material from courses from1948 to 1950, taken by him while he was a student at Hopkins and a member of ROTC. A published photographic essay from "The Johns Hopkins Magazine" October 1961 is the only reference to Dr. Baker's medical career. In the collection are Dr. Baker's notes, manuals, test papers, and maps from military courses and training. The papers are mainly from exercises at Fort Benning, Georgia in 1950. Topics include communications, medical services, small unit exercises, attack tactics, and lectures from infantry school.

R. Robinson Baker (Ralph Robinson) was a surgeon and professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He was born in Baltimore, MD, December 30, 1928. Dr. Baker was educated at The Johns Hopkins University where he received the AB degree in 1950 and the M.D. from the school of Medicine in 1954. Dr. Baker joined the staff of the Hopkins' medical institutions as a surgeon and as professor of surgery and oncology in 1962. Dr. Baker was editor of "Current Trends in the Management of Breast Cancer" published in 1977.
