Biographical / Historical

Richard Cox was born in 1898 in Portland, Oregon. His stepfather was John Latane, professor of history at Johns Hopkins. Cox received both his B.A. and Ph.D. from Hopkins, and joined the faculty as a professor of physics in 1943.
