Nagasaki reparations program photograph album
Content Description
This photograph album titled "賠償機械撤去作業寫真帳" from the Ōmura Mechanical Branch Office (大村管械支所) contains 101 photographs, eleven of which are loose, documenting the activities of the Japanese reparation program in Ōmura and Kawatana in Nagasaki prefecture after World War II, in which industrial equipment was transferred from Japan to several nations as reparations for war damages. The photographs show the warehousing and transportation via truck, rail, and ship of large containers of reparations material destined for China, the Dutch East Indies, the Philippines, and the Malayan Union, as workers move large pieces of equipment and structural components.
