Content Description

This black-and-white photo album appears to date from around 1902. It features a sueded leather cover with text that reads, "Photographs" on the front. The album contains travel photos from Baltimore; Hampton, VA; Washington, DC; Mt. Vernon, VA; New York City; and Hartland, ME.

Most photographs are of buildings and monuments, and many include captions describing points of historical interest to the photographer. During the photographer's visit to the White House, the photographer took several photos of Quentin Roosevelt on his pony, Algonquin, taken from the window of the East Room of the White House. Next to these photos are clippings of Archie Roosevelt and Quentin Roosevelt with Algonquin from around 1902; it is based on the clippings' estimated date that the processor estimates the album to have been created around 1902. No individuals other than Quentin Roosevelt have been identified in any of the photos.
