This monitoring conducted five days a week was sent originally to various Nicaraguan departments, first by telex and then electronically through computers. Accompanying the synthesis of reporting were recommendations or analysis of how the Government should react to the reportage.
Scope and Contents
The collection, which spans 1983 through 1989, provides a unique encompassing view of the time period, U.S. foreign policy, domestic politics, and the role of the U.S. press in shaping policy and opinion at home as well as internationally. It constitutes a resource for scholars in various fields including, but not limited to, Latin American studies, history, U.S. foreign policy, and journalism and society.
