Abstract

Fabian Franklin was a research fellow and a professor in the Johns Hopkins University Department of Mathematics from 1877 to 1895. He then became a noted journalist. This collection includes papers of and about Fabian Franklin, 1890-1939.

Honorius Autun papers

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of three small bound volumes containing notes on two works by Honorius Augustodunensis or Honorius of Autun (1080-1156). One volume contains notes on Elucidarium and the other two volumes contains notes on Speculum Ecclesiae. The notes are written in German. The title page of each volume indicates that they were written in Paris in 1895.

James Bunyan papers

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of research notes, some of which are written in Cyrillic, and a few pieces of correspondence. One of the letters is a hand-written fragment of Bunyans acceptance of a fellowship to the Page school. The documents in the collection are a mixture of manuscripts and typescripts.

Scope and Contents

This collections consists of one bound volume. It is a scrapbook put together by Dr. Cowles to display his collection of newspaper articles, drawings and photos about the oyster trade in the Chesapeake Bay area. The collection provides a look at the struggle amongst oyster tongers, oyster farmers and the Republican and Democratic parties to find a solution to declining oyster population in the early 20th century.

Giuseppe Marchi treatise on the plague

Abstract

Giuseppe Marchi was an archeologist, born at Tolmezzo near Udine, 22 February 1795; he died at Rome, 10 February 1860. Collection consists of a manuscript transcription of "Orazione che usarano contre la peste nella citta di Trento e prelati che vi erano presenti per il Sacro Concilio ad altre orazioni ed antifone contro il male contagioso," originally published in 1582.
