Biographical / Historical

Charles Byungkyu Kim studied composition and computer music with Jean Eichelberger Ivey and Geoffrey Wright at the Peabody Conservatory. Kim's first opera, From Geneva to the Planet Mars, was premiered in a production from the Peabody Opera Studio in 1996. In 1999, he composed music for the official Times Square New Years Eve 2000 Celebration in New York City. Kim has written music and done musical sound design/programming for film, television, and video games as well as for his own solo releases.
