Scope and Contents

Yearly admissions log reports and essays written by David H. Lane, director of admissions, 1983-2016. The annual September admissions log provides demographic information on incoming classes of new students and their areas of study. The records also include a history of admissions marketing, a feasibility study that resulted in the founding of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory in Singapore, an essay on the implementation of the electronic admissions system known as SIS (formerly ISIS, formerly Matrix), and an illustrated document on the subject of Peabody demographics.

The Peabody Institute Office of Admissions serves the Peabody Conservatory. David H. Lane served as director of the Peabody Institute Office of Admissions from 1983 to 2016. Carl Gerbrandt served as director in the 1960s and 1970s.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Admissions logs from 1973-1979 and 1987-2015 and reports on SIS/ISIS/Matrix transferred by the Peabody Institute Office of Admissions in 2016. Admissions statistics and other documents from 1981-1987 transferred in 1991 by Brenda McNeal.
