Collection of Charles H. Bochau scores

Abstract

Charles Henry Bochau (1870-1932) was a member of the Peabody Conservatory voice faculty from 1897 to 1932, director of the conservatory's glee club, and one of the founders of the Johns Hopkins Symphony Orchestra. The collection consists of manuscript and published scores of music composed by Bochau, including vocal music, symphonic music, and chamber music.

Collection of Ebbe Hamerik scores

Ebbe Hamerik was a conductor and composer who was the son of Asger Hamerik, director of the Peabody Conservatory from 1871 to 1898. Elizabeth Ellen Starr correspondence

Abstract

Elizabeth Ellen Starr (1859–1950) attended the Peabody Conservatory and organized support for classical music institutions in Baltimore, including a campaign in 1920 to keep Baltimore's Lyric Theatre from being demolished. Many of the letters in the Starr correspondence collection relate to her efforts to support local music institutions such as the Lyric Theatre and coordinate appearances by the Philadelphia Orchestra and other ensembles visiting Baltimore between 1918 and 1945.

Enrico Caruso papers

Enrico Caruso (1873-1921) was one of the most popular operatic tenors of his era. After beginning his career in his native Italy, Caruso immigrated to the United States and became a star at the Metropolitan Opera. His papers include manuscript and published scores belonging to Caruso, photographs, correspondence, scrapbooks and clippings about his career, caricatures and other artwork, recordings, and ephemera.
