Eugène Rosambeau lithograph, depicting female soldiers of “Les Amazones de la Seine”
This collection consists of an original color lithograph entitled “Les Amazones de la Seine,” created and signed by Eugéne Morsabeau Rosambeau in 1870. The print depicts a group of a dozen Prussian soldiers brought to surrender by members of the “Amazones de la Seine,” a French female military faction during the Siege of Paris (1870-1871).

Johns Hopkins University "May 1968" protests collection
The volatile period of civil unrest in France during May 1968 was punctuated by demonstrations and massive general strikes as well as the occupation of universities and factories across France. At the height of its fervor, it virtually brought the entire advanced capitalist economy of France to a dramatic halt. This artificially-created collection contains posters, protest leaflets, tracts, and photographs from these student protests in May 1968.

This artificially-assembled collection consists of materials relating to international World's Fairs and Expositions, including photographs; postcards; written travelogues or personal accounts of the fairs; ephemera, including programs and printed souvenirs; lithographs and engravings; and physical objects.
