Charles Lane Poor (1866-1951) was an alumnus of Johns Hopkins University and a professor of astronomy and celestial mechanics at Columbia noted for his opposition to Einstein's theory of relativity. Materials date from 1898-1945 and include reports, lectures, reprints, correspondence, photographs, and nine volumes of published articles.
The collection consists of correspondence, manuscript notes, reports, meteorological observations, reprints, drawings, and lecture notes of astronomer and meterologist, Cleveland Abbe, dating from 1851 to 1952.
The collection of astronomer, chemist, and environmental activist, Sally H. Dieke, consists largely of papers from her teaching career and her work with local environmental groups, which range in date from 1886 to 1989.
