This is an album with an applied fabric cover and hand-stitched fabric border. It includes thirty-six works of art constructed with paper, ribbons and hair. Thirty-two of the items were created between 1867-1874, and the last four are from 1897. There is currently no biographical information on the creator.

Kent D. Currie was a printer and typographer who lived in Baltimore, Maryland. The bulk of the collection is formed by Currie's collection of type samples. It includes brochures from Europe, in particular Holland and United States, with a significant attention to Baltimorean type designers. Noteworthy is also Currie's correspondence. The papers span the 1920s to 1950s.

Silk silver ribbon printed in all black. 7 3/4 x 3 inches. Illustrated with an engraved vignette of a Lady Columbia-like figure holding a staff and surrounded by flags, a shield, navigational instruments, and a globe. Above her head in a ribbon are the words, "Intelligence the Life of Liberty." A rare commemorative ribbon celebrating the fourth of July in Albany, New York. The item was printed in 1838.
