Keyser family papers
Papers produced and collected by the Keyser family of Baltimore, Maryland. The Keysers accumulated wealth in the 19th and 20th centuries through mercantile businesses, inheritance, and a variety of industries, including the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, copper and iron works, and investments in land and real estate. They used some of this wealth to finance Baltimore’s public and private institutions, including Johns Hopkins University.
Office of Special Events records
The Office of Special Events is responsible for the planning, coordinating and publicizing of most University-sponsored events, as well as events geared toward public relations and community outreach. The records of the Office of Special Events date from 1947 to 2002. The records consist of correspondence and planning materials, as well as publicity information for the sponsored or coordinated events.
Office of the President records
The records of the Office of the President span the years 1878 through 1997 and from 2018 - Ongoing for its website, although only scattered files contain items from the years prior to 1903.
Owen M. Phillips papers
Owen Martin Phillips (1930-2010) was a Johns Hopkins University professor of Geophysics. This collection consists of the personal and professional papers of Professor Owen M. Phillips, which date from approximately the 1940s-1990s. This collection has not been processed.
Records of the Office of the Dean of Arts and Sciences
The records of the Office of the Dean of Arts and Sciences cover the administrative functions of the department from 1933 to 1993 (bulk of the files from 1951-1993). The records include departmental correspondence, committee files, subject files, memoranda, and policy statements.
Sidney W. Mintz papers
Sidney Wilfred Mintz (1922-2015) was an anthropologist best known for his studies of the Caribbean, creolization, and the anthropology of food. The collection spans the years 1950 to 2005, and consists of correspondence, lecture notes, course files, administrative records, talks, manuscript edits, and research files.
University history scrapbook collection
The University history scrapbooks collection contains 34 volumes of newspaper clippings and articles featuring Johns Hopkins University history and notable accomplishments by its faculty and students from approximately the 1840s to the 1980s.
Vertical reference file collection
The Vertical Reference File is an "artificial" collection consisting of newspaper clippings, magazine articles, curriculum vitaes, and other informational materials concerning Hopkins-related topics, such as individuals, buildings, athletic events, and lecture series. Files on individuals often contain obituaries or other biographical materials.
Wilbert E. Locklin papers
Wilbert E. "Bill" Locklin served as Vice President and Assistant (?) to President Milton Eisenhower. This colleciton includes correspondence and reports reflecting university business, 1965-1976, including copies of letters sent to President Milton S. Eisenhower and two handbooks: "An Experimental Approach to English" and "The Undergraduate at Johns Hopkins."
