Journal of Anne C. Thomas, 1869
Scope and Contents
Dated 1869, bound in brown leather, boards detached, lacks spine, text block cracked, broken in several pieces. Contains many blanks, only 24 pages of manuscript, 22 of which are a journal presumably kept by Anne C. Thomas starting in January of 1869, as her name and the date of January 1869 are on the front blank. The journal entries have heavy religious overtones, "Oh Lord God, thou hast in mercy brought me to a the beginning of another year ... " Includes two pages of lists of Bonds and Shares of various railroad companies, and other companies, at rear.
