Scope and Contents

A rembrance book published in New York by Leavitt and Allen, plus blanks, includes several printed illustrations, bound in embossed leather, decorated gold lettering, worn at tips, corners and edges. Front fly leaf has inscription: "Alice Lee Whitridge, 1857." Presumably a remembrance book of Whitridge, perhaps her friends signing their names and short poems.

Dated March 13th, 1857, bound in half black leather, pebbled cloth covered boards, worn at edges, tips, and corners, text block cracked in half, but attached. Front leaf states "Album of A. Whitridge, March 13th, 1857". It is likely that this is a companion volume to the volume above (Album of Remembrance), includes various pieces of verse copied in, unsure if original, or copied.

Thomas starting in January of 1869, as her name and the date of January 1869 are on the front blank. The journal entries have heavy religious overtones, "Oh Lord God, thou hast in mercy brought me to a the beginning of another year ... " Includes two pages of lists of Bonds and...
